We have been trying Mexican restaurants all over the valley and are usually disappointed by over salted, greasy food that you regret an hour later. This place was fantastic. When you make great, fresh food, you don't have to smother it in salt and heavy cheese. First Mexican restaurant South of Salt Lake I will go back to. Chips and salsa great! Rice is cooked perfectly. Shrimp fajitas were so fresh. Hubby got chicken flautas. They were fried, but not at all greasy. The filling was delicious.
Interesting place that we stopped at. Looked crowded, which for us at a Mexican restaurant, is a positive! We were on our way to Salt City burger, so my wife, a real Mexican
junkie, said look let's go. And we were not disappointed at all. Great food, reasonable prices, good seating, and a real friendly waitresses. Definitely will be returning!
I really wanted to like this place and the reviews seemed solid, but this was one of the most disappointing Mexican meals I can remember having. First, the place was dead yet it still took nearly 10 minutes for someone to stop for a drink order. Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't all Mexican restaurants have some kind of cheese dip? Well, this place doesn't and when I asked the waitress she seemed really confused, like she didn't know what I was asking for. I should have taken this as a clue not to order a guacamole salad, as it was not on the menu, but did anyway since she said it was no problem. I was brought a large plate of guacamole. I had to explain what I wanted to make it a salad...lettuce. She brought it back with lettuce, guacamole and chips (mixed in...) The biggest disappointment (or so I thought) was their use of red sauce on enchiladas. This is more of a personal preference, but when I asked if they had a brown sauce instead, I was given a blank stare. Now that I look through photos, I see a perfectly good brown sauce that she could have offered to fulfill my request. It was never mentioned.
Awesome food and service. I have been a few times now and everything has been fantastic. Guacamole, street tacos, Chile Verde, etc. And they have some sauce that is warm that comes with the street tacos, I don't know what it is but I could seriously drink it. If you try the tacos and they ask you if you want sauce, GET IT! Definitely will be back.
I really enjoy the food. Staff is really polite and prompt. The only problem I have is that the salsa is never the same. One day it might taste like a super mild salsa with no heat. Then the next time it could be so hot that you worry about what might happen when you are in the bathroom later. Otherthan that, this place is great.
At the end of the meal, she left the check on the table and told us she would be our cashier. She then disappeared and after about 10 minutes we got up and had to find someone else who wanted to take our money. As a whole, there was nothing redeeming about this place. The chips were over salted and the salsa tasted like onion water. Our waitress was extremely inattentive and seriously lacked an understanding of the menu and the items she was serving.
