Watch out for the goat's head (noxious weed) that is all around the sidewalk leading from the parking lot to the park. Keep your dog on the concrete path.
A tail of two parks...
Dogs love it. Lots of butter sniffing going on. The grass side is way nicer for humans I think, and they alternate between the grassy side and the gravel and wood chips side.
This park has two parts: a fenced dirt park and a fenced grassy park. The city trades off so the grassy part doesn't degrade too quickly. Of course, I want the grassy part, but I understand that they need to let the grass grow back. This park has a water fountain and a dog water fountain, and the fountains seem to be open year round.
So Draper and Taylorsville here we come!
If it's the grass side open :)
One side is lush, green and spacious. The other is dirty, infested with goathead weeds (ouch!)
Super convenient location, especially since we lived right behind it. People were always friendly. I love that this place has double gates so you don't accidentally let a dog out.
UPDATE goathead weeds are gone!
If it's the other side, head to Draper's dog park and brave the fetid water there.
But for winter it seems like it’s gravel side only.
We come here with our dog several times a week. The dogs and their owners are usually well behaved and very friendly. There is almost always a few dogs to play with. There are two sides, grass and gravel. The park rotates between the two every few weeks or so. They stay pretty clean, have running water, seating, and a nice walking path on the grass side.
