Rest your worried soul. I took my kids out of public school because they were tutoring other kids too much and not being challenged. Two years later, my kids haven't tutored any one once and they are on a more appropriate curriculum. They have a separate music teacher, separate gym teacher, separate Spanish teacher, that the whole school is entitled to, not just certain grades. The bathrooms don't have graffiti, or kids that clog sinks and toilets for fun. The exterior doors lock during school hours and you have to push a buzzer then look into a camera to gain entrance by indoor staff. Plenty of parents who are friendly, as in, life long friends- staff included. No more battles in the wee hours of the morning over inappropriate clothes because there are heavy duty uniforms! Learning about religion is not a big deal, it's just the Bible. Lunches are nourishing with a fruit and veggie bar and if your child is extra hungry they are welcomed to choose a second menu item. The architecture is warm and personifies a school not a state correctional facility. They just won a fancy award for being an eco friendly school with recycling bins everywhere. They have a fun after school programs for parents that work late. Little Blessings for under 5, is affordable and easily accommodates parents schedules. I always feel good dropping my kids off in the mornings.
Blessed Sacrament is a small community where students get individual attention. Many students move onto local Catholic High Schools in honors courses.
I am an 8th grader here and I have enjoyed my experience at this school
We love our kids' school.
On our second year in this awesome school. It is much smaller than most schools which creates the "takes a village" mentality. Principal and all staff know each and every child well which seems to make for a very safe learning environment as no one gets lost or pushed out of the crowd here. Though it's a Catholic school, many non-Catholic families go here because of the focus on not only being a good student but also a good person. The academics are advanced compared to public school and they have activities from community contribution to karate that helps develop all interests. Ultimately, smart and caring children is what this school creates. What more could you ask for?
